3-D Award in Honor of Linda Bunch
We have created this award for a 3-D work in our Annual Juried Art Show in honor of Linda Bunch, our longtime former Executive Director. Your donation will go toward this award for coming years to honor her tenure with the Suffolk Art League.
Linda Glasscock Bunch has been a cornerstone of the Suffolk Art League since 1987. Initially hired as an Administrative Assistant, Linda's passion and commitment propelled her to become Executive Director, where she has been instrumental in promoting local artists while advancing public art initiatives.
Linda received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Virginia Commonwealth University, concentrating in Crafts. Before the Suffolk Art League, she served for six years as the Director of the ceramics shop at the Isle of Wight County Recreational Facilities Authority. An active ceramic artist, Linda maintains a home studio, regularly showing her work at outdoor events and gallery exhibits. She also teaches clay workshops to new artists.
Linda has served on the Board of Directors of the Cultural Alliance of Greater Hampton Roads, holding various offices, including President. Her contributions to the arts were recognized in 2015 when she received the Alli Award for Arts Professionals.
For decades, Linda Bunch paved the art and cultural landscape of the City of Suffolk through her roles as an artist, leader, educator, and community advocate. She has enriched the Suffolk art scene in so many ways and while her retirement marks the end of an era, her legacy will continue to inspire the local community and beyond.
