Knitting Workshop
Join instructor Abigail May for an all-levels knitting workshop! Beginners will learn the basics of this craft form, and intermediate to advanced knitters can refine their skills in a fun and informative workshop session!
Students will be able to choose a scarf pattern that is beginner, ambitious beginner, or intermediate beginner. Each one will result in a special project that the wearer will love. We will not finish the project together, but we will start and you will learn all you need to confidently complete it on your own.
The beginner scarf will be knit using just the knit stitch using one color
The ambitious beginner scarf will be knit using just the knit stitch but will include stripes
The intermediate beginner scarf will be a textured pattern in one color using knit and purl stitches
All materials provided! Ages 14+.
Artist bio:
Abigail May is an early childhood educator and avid knitter. She specializes in creating custom designs using color work. In the summer of 2018, she found that she needed something to occupy her whole self during the break between school years. Knitting was the perfect thing as it combines creativity, math, sensory needs (fidgety hands), and practicality. Though she has completed dozens of sweaters, few things bring her more consistent joy than completing a project made just for the wearer. She loves to share that joy and has been teaching others how to knit at her home in Guatemala.
