2026 Suffolk Plein Air Festival Paint the Taste "QuickDraw" Event
Suffolk Plein Air Festival “Paint the Taste”—OPEN TO ALL ARTISTS!!
If you are creative and like to PAINT, join the fun during the Suffolk Plein Air Festival’s
PAINT THE TASTE quick draw event held on September 13, noon-2 PM during the
“Taste of Suffolk” Downtown Street Festival.
“PAINT THE TASTE” is a fun competition that asks artists to complete an entire piece of
Plein Air artwork within 120 minutes.
Suffolk Plein Air Festival—PAINT THE TASTE
WHO: Open to Youth (ages 10-17) & Adults—ALL Abilities!
WHEN: Saturday, September 12, 2026, 11-1 PM
WHERE: Historic Downtown Suffolk, VA
HOW: Preregister online or on Saturday, September 12 @ 10 AM at the Suffolk
Plein Air Check-in Table.
COST: $10/person, artists provide their own canvas, easel, and painting supplies.
PRIZE: $300 Best in Show,
$200 2 nd place,
$100 3 rd place & ribbons (Adult).
PAINT THE TASTE timeline:
10 AM: Check-in at Suffolk Plein Air Festival tent, located at Bank St. and
Main Street
11-1 PM: Painters work on their “Paint the Taste” artwork within the “Taste of
Suffolk” event boundaries for 120 minutes.
1-1:30 PM: Painters bring artwork to the check-in tent, between Market Street and Main
Street for judging.
2:45 PM: Award winners announced. Artwork available for purchase at the
Suffolk Plein Air Festival tent.
All participating artists who wish to sell their original piece may do so at the conclusion of the event. Artists are encouraged to bring a frame suitable for the piece, and price work accordingly. The “Paint the Taste” consignment fee is 20% of the total sale price.
