No matter what style you paint, the more color the better the work. Al will talk about lights and darks as well as warm and cold. Students will work from a still life looking for color. He will talk about he mixes and changes from one color to the next. Students will need to bring their supplies with them—canvas (no larger that 11x14), #4 flat brush, 8 paint colors in their preferred medium, pallet or pallet paper, paper towels and linseed oil if using oil paints. The paint colors he uses are permalba white, cadmium light yellow, cadmium light red, burnt sienna, French ultramarine blue, alizarin crimson, viridian green, cobalt blue, cerulean blue but students can use what colors they have.
