We have created a monthly meetup for local artists in our community to connect with each other, and offer some advice, tips, and art appreciation. Each Sunday Social is FREE and open to the public. Please bring some refreshments to share if you so choose. This is a relaxed casual setting in the Suffolk Art Gallery. Please join us!

Painting From the Ground Up!
with Hillarey Breedlove This 6-week course will show you the beginning stages of the painting process by building and stretching your canvas. No prior painting experience necessary for this course. It includes a supply list for all the materials needed for you to build your painting! Art Clay Silver Pendant Making Class
The techniques covered in this class include how to manipulate the clay, new techniques or to
expand on the skills and experiences previously learned. New techniques covered in this class
include how to construct a circular shaped pendant and layer addition of small molded decorative elements and decorative designs cut from Art Clay Silver paper type to create a variety of design combinations. We will be using a variety of tools, to support the design such as finishing, sanding techniques, and how to make simple repairs.

2-day Advanced Deconstructed Screen Printing

Saturday, 10am-4pm, Sunday 1-4pm
If you participated in our Free-Form Screen printing and had a blast, or if you want to experiment with a new approach to creating and screen printing, this is the class for you! We are excited to bring Sandy Lupton back into the classroom with her energy and fun approach to creating amazing colorful artworks.
Each artist will choose a concept to develop from start to finish in this fast paced 2-day workshop! Deconstructed screen printing uses thickened dyes to print colorful, textured images onto paper. Artists are welcome to bring source images to use as a jumping off point. All other supplies included.

On-site Painting Class at the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Downtown Suffolk!
Meet at the cemetery for this 2-weekend workshop with artist Al Staszesky, and unearth all of the artistic possibilities influenced by the historic scenery. Artists will meet at the Cedar Hill Cemetery on day 1, and you will choose the perfect spot for your inspiration. You will take reference photos in case there is inclement weather. Classroom time will be available if weather is not favorable, at the Suffolk Art Gallery, 118 Bosley, Ave. Suffolk, VA 23434.
Class is appropriate for ages 15+

What a treat to welcome Collette Mann back to our classroom for another wonderful mosaic class! This class you will create your own "Weird Bird" out of polymer clay, and use it on a 6x6 mosaic with stained glass.
Students will learn how to design their own Tesserae using polymer clay, stamps, mica powders and acrylic paint.
Students will learn how to create and design a cohesive composition using a wide range of materials to create and complete a unique mosaic!
All materials provided, please bring a lunch!

This two night workshop will focus on the basics of calligraphy and materials to use. Students must know how to write in cursive. All materials will be provided.
